Search for DOTA 2
1 Go to Google, type ‘DOTA 2‘ and visit the official website at www.dota2.com. On the home page, click the ‘PLAY FOR FREE‘ button in the upper right corner to go to the Steam platform. Once on the product detail page, click the ‘Play Game‘ green button.
Install Steam
2 Select ‘No, I need Steam‘ to visit the app download page. Then, install the client for Windows.
Create a Steam Account and Sign In
3 Open the Steam app and click the ‘Create a Free Account‘ link on the bottom right of the dialogue box. Then, enter your email address and country of residence, solve the CAPTCHA challenge, read and accept the Steam Subscriber Agreement, and finally confirm your age (you must be at least 14 years old).
Now, wait for the verification message, verify your email by clicking the button in the message you received, and create your account name and password. Lastly, return to the Steam game page and sign in with your credentials.
Install DOTA 2
4 Configure the DOTA 2 video game installation by telling whether you want to install the desktop and start menu shortcuts. Then, select the destination folder. By default, DOTA 2 will be installed on your local hard drive. Click the gear icon on the right to manage and change the storage location. When you are okay, click ‘Install‘ and wait for download and installation.

Launch DOTA 2
5 When the DOTA 2 installation is complete, click the ‘PLAY‘ green button on the right to launch the game. After the quick intro video, you are ready to go. Select your player level, accept the first items, and start your journey.
