Will I lose my library when I uninstall and reinstall iTunes?
No. Media you buy from the iTunes Store or songs you import from CDs are saved in your My Music folder by default. Therefore, removing iTunes will not automatically delete your media library content.
Will I lose my music if I delete iTunes?
Music and playlists are kept in the iTunes library (My Music folder). Uninstalling iTunes doesn’t modify it. However, we recommend you copy the iTunes library onto another folder.
Does deleting songs from iTunes delete the file?
When you delete a song from the iTunes library, you can choose whether to delete the underlying audio file, but only if that file is in your designated iTunes Media folder. If it is elsewhere, as it appears to be in your case, you will have to delete the file manually.
Are iTunes songs stored on my computer?
By default, your iTunes Media folder is in your iTunes folder. Go to User > Music > iTunes > iTunes Media to find it.
Where should iTunes music files be stored?
